Matthew McConaughey movies I like

Okay, he is not the greatest actor. He is barely a good actor. Then again that last comment may be little harsh. He has his moments in his career where he got a chance and proved his acting ability. His impeccable physique and easy attitude makes him instantly likable and he has some good movies to his name. Just to be clear, the only reason I am even writing this is his movie "Failure to Launch" is on TV right now. So here it is:

1. Time to Kill (1996)

This movie is a top notch adaption of the John Grisham's novel of the same name. McConaughey plays the lead role as attorney Jake Tyler Brigance. His casting as Jake is perfect and he plays the part well and his southern accent fits the character perfectly.

2. Reign of Fire (2002)

Majority of his movies may lead you to believe he is a guy fit to play only romantic roles. But his role as Denton Van Zan 'Dragon Slayer' will you think twice. Thrice in fact, because he plays the most intimidating bad a** character to perfection. In fact you will barely recognize Denton as McConaughey. And the movie is a sci-fi/future flick that is very underrated.

3. How to Loose a Guy in 10 Days (2003)

Finally a romantic comedy that is good. It has a interesting plot and funny situations that will keep you interested. Although  the movie ending is very predictable, his chemistry with Kate Hudson is worth the watch.

Paper Moon (1973)

Captivating is a word I rarely get to to use a describe a movie. This movie most certainly is. A conman and a kid meet under extrodinary circumstances in extrordinary times. The country is going through the Great Depression and the conman is making hay pulling his tricks on every available opportunity until he meets the girl who proves more than a match to him. Witty, funny, emotinal this movie is a roller coaster ride of emotions. Like all good underdog movies you end up cheering for the protagonists despite their criminal intent. But different from its genre it ends in a climax worth the rest of the movie. The acting by Tatum O'neal as Addie was exceptional and won her an oscar. she still holds the reord for the youngest actress to win an oscar. I highly recommend this movie to anyone with heart.
